Immune System Support Tea
Ingredients: Hibiscus, rosehips, lemongrass, lemon peel, cinnamon chips
This is for a 9 cup batch recipe. We do it this way because, as a mom of 2, it's easier to have the tea ready and heat it up as needed. But also because some ingredients require a longer cook time. Specifically, the rosehips and cinnamon chips in this recipe require a decoction to be made. This is important to extract the essence of these ingredients, otherwise the tea will not be as medicinal or flavorful. It is one of the most common methods to prepare plants in herbal medicine. All you have to do is boil water, put those ingredients in (stored separately), put the lid half on the pot and simmer about 10 min. And boom, you have the makings of a beginner herbalist.
This batch is for 9 cups, but up to 12 cups can be used if you simmer for about 20 min.
